Plasma is the fourth state of matter, following solid, liquid and gas.
It can be found naturally in lightning and auroras.
A research institute in South Korea has been developing atmospheric pressure plasma source technology with the aim of using plasma in the medical field.
"Plasma bio is a technology that is widely used in our daily lives to purify air and remove germs and viruses."
According to research results, plasma devices were shown to purify air and remove viruses in enclosed spaces.
After being proven safe, the technology has been transferred to a private company.
"It's a new technology that collects ultrafine dust of less than 0.3 micrometers, removes various viruses and purifies air."
The company's teeth whitening medical device was approved by the food and drug ministry for the first time, and is expected to boost the plasma bio industry.
