The United States says it will soon be able to sell more rice to South Korea than ever before.
According to a press release from the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative on Tuesday, Seoul and Washington reached a deal guaranteeing access to the Korean market for 110 million dollars of American rice per year from 2020.
That amounts to approximately 132-thousand tons of rice.
The agreement comes after years of negotiation on the rice issue, after a WTO measure allowing Korea to protect its market expired in 2014.
