North Korea recently hinted at optimism about South Korea’s new national security reshuffle. Pyeongyang’s rather unexpected reaction could be explained by the fact that there are those who have expressed concerns over the South Korea-U.S. working group among the nominees of the security posts. North Korea remains silent as it continues to keep its eyes on how South Korea and the U.S. are navigating the situation. What role would President Moon’s new security team play in relation to South Korea’s North Korea diplomacy? Would it benefit the inter-Korean relationship and the U.S.-N. Korea ties?
